GLENS FALLS, NY — Three longtime community leaders joined those currently serving on the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees on January 1, 2020.
Dr. Jordan Blackwood, Terry Celadon, RN, and Michael Mihaly, AFIM, will help lead the Foundation, which works to create greater awareness of the hospital’s mission, while also raising private funds to bridge the gap between available resources and the hospital’s ongoing needs in providing high-quality care close to home.
“We are thrilled to welcome such accomplished and dedicated leaders to the Foundation board,” said Katherine Herlihy Schwenker, the newly-appointed Chair of the Foundation Board of Trustees. “They each bring a wealth of experience, insights and community relationships that will be invaluable as we carry out the Foundation’s mission.”
Dr. Blackwood is a board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist at Glens Falls Hospital’s Adirondack Cardiology in Queensbury. He has overseen the congestive heart failure clinic, while also serving as Director of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation. He previously served at Danbury (Connecticut) Hospital and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. He earned his undergraduate and medical training at Emory University and Morehouse School of Medicine, respectively.
Terry Celadon, RN, Assistant Director at the Joyce Stock Snuggery, is an area native who has had a decades-long relationship with Glens Falls Hospital. She began her career as a graduate nurse and over nearly 20 years, advanced to staff and leadership roles at what would later be known as The Joyce Stock Snuggery. She and her family then spent 15 years in North Carolina, where she was an active community volunteer. Having moved back home, she and her husband Vic now live in Queensbury and their daughter, Christina, now also works at Glens Falls Hospital.
Michael Mihaly, AFIM, is Vice President/Investment Department Manager for Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Co. He is also President of North Country Investment Advisers, Inc. He brings two decades of experience in the investment industry to the Foundation board, as well as several years of community volunteering – through the Wellspring DVRC in Saratoga Springs and the Children’s Museum in Saratoga.
Also new in 2020 is the appointment of Katherine Herlihy Schwenker as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Andrew Brodie as Vice Chair, and Marc Monahan as Secretary. Glens Falls Hospital would like to thank those who provided extensive leadership in developing and strengthening programs aimed at increasing community giving as their terms to came to an end in 2019. This includes Dr. Eric Cottrell, Frank Barber and Christopher Ellis.
