Tabetha Murray

When Tabetha Murray underwent a hysterectomy at Glens Falls Hospital, her doctor prescribed medication for the pain. Turns out, she barely needed it. “I took, maybe, two pills — because the pain was so minimal,” said Tabetha, 49.

She is one of a growing number of patients opting for surgery with the da Vinci Rotic Surgical System at GFH. Minimally invasive procedures using da Vinci reduce pain, scarring and the length of hospital stays.

In Tabetha’s case, she went into the hospital at 7 a.m. on a Friday and was out by 4 p.m. The quick recovery was important to Tabetha, who owns her own hair salon in South Glens Falls. She was back to work in 10 days.

“I’m a small business owner. If I don’t work, the money doesn’t come in,” she said. “I definitely paced myself, but was very quickly going about my normal life.”
