The 2017 Dr. William Simmonds Cancer Symposium
The C.R. Wood Cancer Center is pleased to announce “The 2017 Dr. William Simmonds Cancer Symposium: The Evolving Role of Precision Medicine in Cancer Care.” This educational program is designed to present the latest in precision medicine in oncology. Particular focus on skin, lung and breast cancers will provide health care professionals with new options and resources that can be incorporated in day-to-day practices. Participants will discuss the use of genomic testing for precision medicine and develop a deeper understanding of the various immunologic and targeted therapies that are available.
Guest speakers will include doctors from Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The program is supported by the Lake Champlain Cancer Research Organization in memory of Dr. William Simmonds, who was the first physician in the Glens Falls region dedicated to the care of individuals with cancer.
The event is Saturday, May 6 at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge in Queensbury from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. and breakfast will be provided. Please register online by April 15th. Space is limited.
